The purpose of this Foundation is simple. The world is demanding Biofuels - the west has shown clearly it cannot make them without actually creating an even worse greenhouse gas problem, Africa can! Africa though is presented by the western media time and time again as a continent of despair - we believe an unfair view of a continent that is so rich in resource and people - but it is a direct reflection of a lack of economic development.

The reasons Africa has not developed are all covered elsewhere and are not relevant to this page. All that is relevant is the basic reality that economic development is a result of both opportunity and the knowledge of how to grasp it.

Biofuel provides opportunity - this Foundation exists to support the African countries in the development of the knowledge and skills needed to grasp it.

All of the projects we have undertaken have the equivalent in the west - organisations that have a lot of individual skills making up a collective knowledge that is the "company" - something that has grown from a small start a long time ago. To create that from an almost clean sheet is a challenge.

To meet that challenge we need a pool of knowledge, and above all else experience, people we can use as masters and mentors. People who are willing to spend a year or so in some part of Africa imparting knowledge they had all but forgotten they had.

On another page in this site we gaily talk of "modernising" an old Volvo Tractor design and then fitting the most modern steam engine design available - a design older than the original tractor itself. That it will make a modern tractor of good performance running on available biomass fuel is not in doubt - but to manufacture it in Sub Saharan Africa and have it fit the local economy is the real challenge.

“Old age is the fourth stage. By the time one reaches this stage of his journey, he must have discovered that the joys available in this world are trivial and fleeting. He must be equipped with the higher knowledge of spiritual joy, available through delving into the inner spring of Bliss. Through his experiences, his heart must have softened and be filled with compassion. He has to be engrossed in promoting the progress of all beings without distinction. And he must be eager to share with others the knowledge he has accumulated and the benefit of his experiences.”

Sri Sathya Sai Baba  (Indian Spiritual leader, b.1926)
We need experienced mining men, smeltermen, foundrymen and patternmakers, fitters, toolmakers and machinists - people who can set up and train locals to operate gear cutters and the myriad of machine tools involved.  Steam men and tyremen - the list just goes on and on...and that is just one of the projects. We have many - we need many more!

If you have one or more of the skills we need you will know it after browsing these pages.

If you have been "downsized" out of a company you believed in -  your hard won skills of a lifetime meaning nothing to the whizz kids in charge - contact us.

If you are retired and looking for something - alone or with an understanding partner - then contact us.

If you are a member of an African diaspora willing to support us at the Swedish end of any project in any way you can - then contact us.

If you just like the idea and want to be part of the team - then contact us.
